Stress the importance of internet and video game safety. Natural consequences- they work!ģ) Your child should not have any personal contact with online people he meets while playing video games. When your child can abide by the rules for three consecutive days, he can go back to following rule #1. Because some games can last longer than others and it is difficult for the adults to monitor how many games are played, a good rule of thumb is “you may play X number of games or one hour, whichever is longer and then you must turn off the video game and begin your homework.” Set a timer to help younger children (and resistant teens) know when their time is up.Ģ) If your child does not follow rule #1, then for every minute the child plays longer than an hour, that time is deducted from the next day (or several days) of game time. We recommend setting a certain number of games and/or time limit on video games that can be played after school before homework must begin. If video game playing is interfering with academics, socialization, sleep, or family time, then you may need to rethink the video game playing rules in your home.ġ) Set limits on the times of day when video game play is allowed.Īfter school may be a great time for kids to unwind and relax from their busy school day, but playing video games right before bed may make it difficult for them to relax and fall asleep. Most parents feel that their kids are playing video games too long. Other than that, great game, I really hope I can finish it because if not, then I’ll feel like I wasted a lot of time for nothing. Is Your Child Playing Video Games Too Much? Maybe try to highlight the area on the ground where it needs to be tapped? When I have to talk to someone or go someplace, I have to tap multiple times because I’m unsure of where exactly to tap even though the exclamation point is hovering over it. The second thing that bothers me is that the controls are kinda wonky. So now, I’m stuck on chapter 14 (I think) at a very pivotal moment and the game is broken! Very heartbreaking. I’ve tried interacting with the characters in that area, the doors, so on and nothing works, which forces me to save and close in hopes of being able to return and complete the scene. The first is that sometimes when there is dialogue, an ad will pop up, which is fine, but then the ad completely breaks the game and I can’t continue the dialogue or anything. I really like this game! Unique, very interesting motifs that are used. They appear right before a save point so it doesn’t interrupt the flow of the story too much. There is an ad after every chapter, but they’re skippable after 5 seconds. The story brings it all together in the end so nothing added was wasted, it just didn’t feel so at the time of reading. If I had to give 1 complaint it would be that eventually every chapter ends with either a huge cliffhanger because of new information, or a plot twist that at first seems to come out of nowhere. Simple but very powerful and emotional, it fits the game’s atmosphere perfectly. Not just the story either, I was extremely surprised at how good the music was. The further you get the better everything becomes. But the story and characters all grew on me as I read. At first the blocky looking characters and few environments made me expect something low quality. I’ve never written a review before, but this is a special game. A free story that’s absolutely worth your time.
